Internship:
Web Writer/Producer
Location: Silver Spring, MD
TV One’s Digital Media Department is responsible for the content and design the network’s Web site (www.tvoneonline.com) and the production of its online interactive features, such as polls, blogs, community tools and other original content related to TV One programs and promotions.
The department works closely with Marketing & Creative Services, Programming and Production and Ad Sales to create compelling campaigns for the Web, on-air and in print.
Requirements
*Digital Media, Communications, Marketing or Journalism major/minor
*Junior, Senior or Graduate student standing
*Must have excellent writing skills
*Must have experience writing in an online environment
*Previous internship or related work experience a plus
Skills/Knowledge to Gain
The student will gain hands-on experience on how to produce and write for the Web. They will also see the inner workings of what it takes to produce and maintain a Web site for a national cable network.
The goal for the intern is to have a portfolio of professional quality work that includes a blog, a comprehensive episode guide of TV One comedies and writing examples that display his/her ability to create compelling, interactive content for online audiences.
Responsibilities
*Create and maintain a TV One blog that can be used in a professional portfolio post-graduation (topic to be determined).
*Assist in writing weekly community-related teasers and features for TV One Online.
*Assist in the production of the TV One eUpdate, our weekly e-mail newsletter.
*Contribute to weekly content updates to TV One’s homepage.
Provide general online support as needed
