Co-founder and lead singer of The Temptations. Eddie Kendricks’ sweet falsetto helped define that legendary group’s distinctive sound. His was the lead on such hits as The Way You Do The Things You Do, Get Ready, and Just My Imagination.  But despite that group’s stunning success, restlessness and resentment led to Kendricks’ departure for a solo career.

On his own, he recorded a raft of R&B hits punctuated by the number one releases Keep On Truckin and Boogie Down,  while his easy-going personality made him a favorite with fans and fellow stars. But behind the scenes, Eddie Kendricks was often a loner, who rarely let friends and family members witness his personal struggles, even to the end as he fought the lung cancer that would claim his life.

Now, those closest to Eddie, including his children, and fellow Motown legends Mary Wilson, Otis Williams and Martha Reeves, come together on Unsung to craft a portrait of the greatest singer few  really knew.
